POEMS BY PATRICIA JONES
Yorkshire
Heart radio, is simply one of the best,
Lots of competitions, and the music is the best,
Getting people involved, with exciting conversations,
Every morning I tune into this great radio station.
I believe they’re looking for poems on the theme of Yorkshire,
So I just had to get involved and take part,
And shock yah.
Yorkshire dales, and Yorkshire moors,
Yorkshire tea and Yorkshire puddings of course.
Yorkshire countrysides and Yorkshire water too,
Lots of attractions and activities, lots of things to do…
Lots of pretty villages, and lively cities too,
Without this thing called Yorkshire what the hell would we do?
Yorkshire has England’s biggest vale,
And the biggest medieval cathedral,
Biggest abbey ruins,
The world’s biggest fish and chip shop too,
And Britain’s tallest man, believe me it’s so true.
The biggest parish church, and so much breath-taking sceneries,
I have just highlighted a few things too make you see.
So Yorkshire, Yorkshire please bring it on,
Because without you, I just can’t carry on.
